Welcome to the 2021 State of Maryland Literacy Association Conference. This is Maryland’s 49th annual and 1st virtual conference. The three day event is packed with exciting opportunities for professional development, networking, and finding materials for classroom use. This conference is intended for a wide-range of audiences including classroom teachers, reading specialists, curriculum specialists, administrators, and other educators. There is a variety of high caliber speakers, researchers, practitioners, publishers, and authors that are presenting throughout the conference, as well as special workshop sessions scheduled. You may apply for CPD credit through MDSE by filling out this form To qualify, you must have attended15 hours total.  Please fill out all of the information.  Incomplete requests will not be filled.  Requests will be cross referenced with session attendance on the weekend of April 15-17th, 2021.  If you participated for the required hours, you will receive a credit. Please be patient, you will receive your form.

As educators, our mission is to educate all children no matter who they are and what additional challenges they face during or outside the school day, including racism, neglect, and poverty. COVID has further complicated how we can meet both the academic and social-emotional needs of our students.  For this reason, it is paramount that educators take intentional steps to ensure we attend to the whole child throughout the school day and beyond.
